Religious Sculpture

Religious statues, as the core form of religious art, carry multiple meanings and are the intersection of faith, culture, and art. They are not only components of religious rituals and places, but also carriers of doctrines, philosophical ideas, and historical traditions, conveying sacredness and spiritual values through visual imagery. ‌
The core function of religious statues is to strengthen faith and ritual practices. They serve as concrete representations of sacred figures such as Jesus, Buddha, and Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, helping believers to concentrate their devotion, worship, or meditate, and playing a key role in religious festivals or ceremonies, such as Buddhist stone carvings guiding practice in temples and Christian statues assisting in the dissemination of doctrine in churches.
